This Week in Children's Ministries
I started taking a 6-week course through TGC called "Discipling the Next Generation".
One of the main points of the talk was about the 3 pillars that ought to be in the Christian home:
The three pillars are: being in the Word, being in prayer, and being at church every week. Think of it as a three-legged stool. If one of those legs is missing, it's not a stool that you'll be able to stand on!
As we are raising our children to be life-long disciples of Christ, we must think seriously about our family's habits, and how these will speak volumes to our children when they leave our home. They are with us for a short, yet very formative time in their lives. What will they think is most important? What do our priorities tell them? I encourage you to examine your family's rhythms (as I will be doing, too!) and see if there are some priorities that need to be shifted, to make solid space for what is best.
